Digital Intrusion By RedTeam Hackers Academy
RedTeam Hackers Academy conducted a two-part workshop on cybersecurity, providing students with valuable insights into ethical hacking and defense strategies. The event began with an online pre-workshop session on 18 November which focused on installation and setup to prepare participants for the main event. This was followed by a physical workshop on Wednesday, 20 November. The workshop aimed to enhance students' practical skills in ethical hacking, deepen their understanding of modern cybersecurity challenges, and equip them with knowledge critical for careers in the field.

Treasure Code Hunt
The Treasure Code Hunt on 6th November (Wednesday) from 9 AM to 2 PM at the vending machine area is an exciting campus-wide challenge. Teams of 1-3 people will search for clues scattered across the campus, each containing a piece of (pseudo)code. Once all clues are collected, participants must assemble the code, fix logical errors, and submit a final code file. The event promises a fun mix of problem-solving and teamwork, with prizes to be announced.
The first workshop of the "Machine Learning with Python" series covered the basics of supervised learning, focusing on regression and classification problems. Participants explored data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation techniques using Python libraries like scikit-learn. A hands-on session guided them through building a simple supervised ML model, followed by a practical challenge for independent practice.

C Midsem Workshop
We recently held an interactive hands-on session to help students gear up for their C programming mid semester exam! During the session, participants dove into essential C concepts through an insightful lecture and practical exercises, gaining a solid understanding of foundational topics.

Breast Cancer Awareness
A Breast Cancer Awareness event was held, featuring a quiz for students. The participants engaged in answering questions related to breast cancer, helping raise awareness and promote education on the topic. During the Breast Cancer Awareness event, students who answered 6 or more questions from the questionnaire were rewarded with chocolates and goodies as a token of appreciation for their participation.

Orientation
The Orientation session, organized by ACM-W, was an introduction event for new and existing members, offering an overview of the club’s mission, activities, and goals. The session also provided a sneak peek into the exciting events planned for the upcoming year. During the event, the council members were formally introduced, giving attendees an opportunity to meet the team and understand their roles. After the event, all attendees were treated to free pizza.

The Castle Ground Relay was an exciting event hosted by ACM W, where participants competed in a series of games, aiming to complete each task in the shortest time possible. The winner received a prize of 30 AED along with a goodie bag.

Icebreakers
Icebreakers was an engaging icebreaker event for freshers, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere. The event provided an excellent platform for new students to connect with peers, explore opportunities, and gain insight into the club's focus on empowering women in computing. Freshers were also given the chance to register as members.

JuMP Presentation
ACM-W BPDC presents the Junior Mentorship Programme. It aims to build a cohesive community of undergraduate developers. By pairing students as mentees with seniors as mentors, it intends to create an opportunity to learn and develop skills.
ACM-W BPDC organized ‘Tech Relay Challenge.’ This challenge was a competitive event consisting of three levels designed to test participants' skills and agility. Participants compete individually to complete each level as quickly and accurately as possible. The prize for this event was a cash prize of AED 25.

Spin the Bottle Roulette
ACM-W) organized ‘Spin the bottle- Roulette’ a fun challenge on 6th March for women's day. The stall was near the vending machine area, from 11am till 3pm. In this challenge, the participants were supposed to spin the bottle on the chart kept on the table, wherever the bottle’s neck pointed would have to answer 3 questions or do tasks related to the occasion. The winners of this game had a chance to get polaroid reels with their picture for 3 dhs.
DigiQuest
ACM-W organized an exciting event named "Digiquest," where students were challenged to utilize cryptarithmetic puzzles as clues to complete a crossword. The objective was clear that the participant who accurately solved the crossword in the shortest time emerged victorious. A cash prize of 25 AED added to the thrill of the competition. With a turnout of over 15 participants, Mohammed Firas emerged as the winner of this engaging event, showcasing both speed and accuracy in problem-solving.

ACM X ACMW: An Interactive Session with Mohammed S. Shehata
Dr. Shehata, an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan, is renowned for expertise in Object Detection, Object Tracking, and Self-Supervised Learning. During his interaction at BPDC, he emphasized skill development and perseverance. Anubhav Gupta, a BPDC alumnus and Dr. Shehata’s thesis student, shared his journey from undergrad to researcher, offering practical advice.

Relay Game
The Relay Game featured two thrilling stages: the Chopstick Challenge and GuessGPT. Participants showcased agility and mental acuity as they sorted buttons with chopsticks and engaged in a cerebral duel with ChatGPT. Amid intense competition, the victorious participant, awarded AED 25, demonstrated exceptional prowess across both challenges, emphasizing precision, teamwork, ingenuity, and communication skills under pressure.

Manifest QR Code Challenge
The ACM-W Manifest QR Challenge invites participants on a journey inspired by the TV show "Manifest." Dr. Saanvi has discovered a way to connect with callings using QR codes. As passengers of Flight 828, participants will follow and fulfill these callings to uncover what was once lost. The theme of this challenge centers around historic equipment in the field of science, providing participants with an opportunity to delve into the fascinating history of scientific advancements.

BITS & BYTES Brain Teasers
A Tech quiz conducted every Saturday on ACM-W Instagram handle from 05.08.2023 – 19.08.2023. The brain teasers included questions from diverse topics of technology like AI, Cybersecurity and Cryptocurrency. Participants had the chance to win a 50 AED Virgin Megastore gift card.

Maze
On the first day of BPDC’s 2023 event Technofest, ACM-W organized Maze, an agility based game. Participants were challenged to complete the maze without touching the outlines of said maze all under a minute in order to win.
This workshop focused on the critical feature of data analysis in the field of data science.
Participants studied numerous data exploration and visualization approaches, allowing them to discover patterns, trends, and insights from a variety of datasets.

On the second day of BPDC’s technofest, ACM-W organized a game of life-sized ludo. Participants (in teams of 4) played on a life-sized board of ludo with a life-sized dice. The team that made it to the end of the board won the round.

Networking Nights with ACM-W at SRM and WIE at BPDC
In this three-way collaboration, ACM-W invited students from SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Chennai) and BPDC to network with each other. The event was led by women-only teams from ACM-W and WIE. Students from BPDC and SRM got an opportunity to interact with students from their respective campuses.

JuMP Phase 1
ACM-W launched its Junior Mentorship programme with 5 mentors, 6 mentees and 2 tracks (web and app development). In a span of 4 weeks, mentors collaborated with the ACM-W team to organize hands-on workshops in the form of crash courses to tutor mentees in the track of their choice.
Mentors first prepared a study plan along with assignments for the mentees. The assignments were related to the workshops hosted each week and were to be submitted by the mentees on the software collaboration platform Github.

Deep Dive into Power BI
ACM-W, in collaboration with Microsoft Tech Club MTC, conducted a hands-on workshop on the use of Azure for Text analysis, conversational chatbots , DAX and more.
The workshop entailed analyzing data sheets of a fictional travel agency to introduce the basics of Power BI. Certificates were awarded to participants on completion of the session.

Android Development Session
Android Development Session with Android Studio conducted by ACM-W covered setting up an android studio project, introduction to the layout editor & XML followed by designing the UI using Image Views, Text Views & Buttons.
The session concluded with every participant being able to successfully build and run the app on their physical device.

BITS Tech Fest: Engenuity
Slide to Win at Enginuity, part of BITS TechFest, challenged university students with a Python-designed slider puzzle. The event, which tracked solving times, tested problem-solving and quick thinking. Shreya Shetti emerged as the winner. The competition fostered strategic thinking, community interaction, and enhanced technical and logical skills.

ACM-W BPDC, in collaboration with MTC, hosted two web scraping workshops: one on April 16th with Selenium, led by Keane Coutinho, and another on April 19th with Beautiful Soup, led by Shreya Doodipala. ACM-W BPDC organized a short workshop on Menstrual Health. This workshop was hosted by Ms. Avani Gupta in the DIAC park. The participants had a chance to experience yoga session and explore different Asanas that are effective in healing ‘Period problems’ and ‘Yoga Nidra Meditation’ for deep sleep.

Machine Learning Workshop
ACM-W conducted a workshop on the topic Machine Learning on 1st March, 2024 at 6pm. This workshop was conducted online by Malvika Sawant (f20210245@dubai.bits-pilani.ac.in). Participants gained a foundational understanding of key machine learning concepts. They were also able to enhance data preprocessing and data visualization skills. Pandas library of Python programming language was used to explain the concepts in this workshop.

ACM X ACM-W: Breast Cancer Awareness Day
The ACM and ACM-W BPDC chapters collaborated on the ACM X ACM-W Breast Cancer Awareness Day. With 142 student participants, the event aimed to educate and empower students about breast cancer prevention and early detection. A highlight was a quiz covering various aspects of breast cancer, fostering knowledge and solidarity. Attendees were treated to complimentary treats as a gesture of gratitude.

Teams used Playfair Cipher to encrypt and decode messages, competing for prizes. The winner received 50 AED, and all participants earned certificates, recognizing their dedication and skills. Free popcorn was distributed to attendees.

The Cryptarithmetic Challenge is a unique puzzle where letters represent digits. Participants solve equations ensuring each letter corresponds to a distinct digit from 0 to 9, observing addition properties and avoiding leading zeros. All participants received certificates for their outstanding efforts in showcasing mathematical prowess and logical thinking.

Lazer Maze
Participants were tasked with solving riddles and navigating a laser maze within a limited timeframe. This combination of mental dexterity and quick decision-making added an exciting dimension to the challenge.
To raise the stakes, a cash prize of 25 AED was offered to the quickest and most astute participant who successfully completed the challenge. This added element of competition added an extra layer of excitement and motivation for all involved

Social Media Quiz Competition
An online quiz was held on ACM-W’s Instagram page, with several tech-related quiz questions put up son the ACM-W instagram story.
One female and one male winner with the most correct answers were declared after the quiz on commerated on the instagram page.

A five week workshop carried out by ACM-W that dealt with helping students learn and apply different Data Science Techniques on different datasets.
The program covered the following topics: Introduction to Python and Python Libraries, Data Pre-Processing, Data Clustering, Classification with Support Vector Machines and Classification with Regression over 5 sessions.

Android Development Workshop for High School Students
ACM-W mentored school students to develop their own Android App. The workshop, conducted by Shaik Sabiha, Chair.
Grade 9-11 students built a Cookie Clicker App which taught them basics of Android development. The workshop encouraged students to develop interest in building apps.
